Puddle Jumping and Fun Stuff

It is amazing how little things remind me how quickly time passes:

On our walk today, Thom really wanted to take the sled and find the snow. Thankfully, I dressed him in his rain boots as quickly his interest changed to jumping in the puddles he found =) It made me think back (as we were hunting for the best puddles to jump in) to when I use to take Jackson (my nephew) to toddler swimming lessons. Even if Jackson wasnt dressed appropriatley I would let him jump in the puddles - I figure if we parents dont dress the kids right for the weather if they get wet or dirty or whatever it is our own fault.
When we were running into town on Saturday, as I was getting Beth into the car Thom was playing outside of the garage while he waited for me. Once I was done with Beth, I turned around and found my son sitting in a very large puddle! Obviously, packing rain boots is not enough - rain pants in March may be nessisary! Thankfully, I always carry a change of clothes - however, I do need to carry extra shoes! - Lesson learnt!

Every night before Thom goes to sleep I read to him from a Dinosaur Enceclopedia. A couple weeks ago as Thom was telling me what he wanting read, he started flipping through the book. The really neat thing is, no longer does Thom flip large chunks of a book at a time, he can fan out the pages so he can see them as they flip by. I never really paid attention to how he turned the pages before and now there is this big change and I am in awe, everytime he starts fanning the pages I am shock at this change!

Thom thinks a normal action in our house when he askes for orange juice is Jeff or I put water into the cup first - about 2/3 water and 1/3 juice. Today, after asking for orange juice he got his cup out and told me he could do it. He got out the juice, then pulled a chair over to the sink and filled his cup 95% full of water and asked me to add the juice! It was great, he totally understands that juice gets cut with water.

and just so this post is not all about Thommy...

Beth, did not cry the whole time I bathed her today (only about 75%)
Beth, slept on my shoulder for the full walk we went on today.
Beth no longer smiles at me only when she is about to feed!
I think Beth prefers nursed outside in the sunlight as when ever I put on her snowsuit she wants to eat.
Beth definatley sleeps more than Thom did a newborn which makes me more peppy than I could be with two kids!

HAPPY EASTER
