I am on my third load of laundry in the last 18 hours, how do people do it having children in apartments without built in laudry rooms. I can walk to the other end of the house and still hear Thom and Beth, however if I had to leave the apartment and go to a different floor or even a common room, what would happen to the kids - I think Thom would start a fire or leave the apartment - carrying Beth, or I am not sure but I am sure it would be bad.
I am curious, how did my Gramma Friesen take care of the large garden on the farm, the kids and the house plus having 7 kids. I am pretty positive that she did not have a washing machine and dryer as they used an outhouse when my Dad was little! I can remember a wringer from when I was little - I dont think it was still used but it might have been. And they had a milk separater and loads of chickens with eggs that needed to be washed. . . .
Or is that why she had 7 kids? I am certain all life could have involved was work except for on Sundays.
I am so lucky and blessed not to have to worry about all that and be able to use wash cloths to wipe my childrens bottom out of choice not because I can't afford wipes or because they havn't been invented yet. I would definetley be using disposable wipes if I did not have a laundry room in my home.
The ability to do laundry in my own home is a marvolous convience that we should all remember to appreciate.
