This week I went to the doctor and got a very exciting perscription for antibiotics (with 4 refills)!
After I had Thommy I had mastitis till January on and off (that is over 3 months of pain, reduced workload ie people cleaned my house for me and I just slept or laid around in bed or so it felt) and developed a large abcess. I went to the doctors numberous times and had tests done to find out what was going on. Due to the abcess at a ultra sound I was told it made a pocket in my breast which may or may not shrink over time but would leave me more prone to getting future infections with additional children.
Since I have had Beth everyday I wake up with that pocket painful and enlarged due to a blocked duct which throughout the day Beth and I work on. I worry and check myself numberous times a day thinking 'am I getting sick', and I avoid going out because I dont want to put to much stress on my body.
With mastits you get flu like symptoms, dizziness, exhaution, headache, bodyaches, pain in breast, swelling in breast and you need nurse often, get medication and rest to avoid an abcess and to get better. With Thom I was afraid to carry him when I had the onset of syptoms as I would tip while I was walking. With Beth I am more frightened as I don't know how I could take care of Thom while resting when he has so much energy.
The perscription I have makes me feel much more confident it will be okay because at the first sign of getting sick I can take my medication and hopfully avoid most of the symptoms. The perscription definatley will may my life more relaxing although I am sure I still will be checking myself out often.
